Why a room-by-room inventory helps
Walking through each room is more reliable than estimating from memory. Include items in cupboards, lofts, garages and gardens, plus anything unusually large, fragile or heavy.
Use a photo for unusual items
If a bulky or awkward item is hard to name, the quote form lets you add an optional photo or short video. Homeward may suggest a description and size for you to review; it cannot determine exact weight, dimensions or access difficulty, and unclear items go to manual review.
1. Start with the main rooms
Count sofas, beds, wardrobes, tables, appliances and boxes. Add the quantity for each item rather than relying on a room-size guess.
2. Add the easy-to-forget items
Use custom items for desks, pianos, gym equipment, garden tools or anything that needs a little more explanation.
3. Check the summary
Review the estimated volume and weight, then print or share your room list. It is also ready to carry into your online quote.
Plan before you request your quote
Homeward uses your inventory alongside both postcodes and access details to work out a practical route and vehicle plan. You can adjust the quantities in the quote form before choosing a date.
