Check both ends of the move
Collection and delivery can have completely different constraints. Walk the route from the likely vehicle position to the rooms, and take measurements or photographs where access looks tight.
Parking and loading
- Where can the vehicle legally and safely stop?
- Is a permit, bay suspension or building booking needed?
- How far is the carry from the door to the vehicle?
Stairs, lifts and corridors
- How many flights are there at collection and delivery?
- Will larger furniture fit through lifts, turns and doorways?
- Are communal areas available throughout the move?
Large and difficult items
- Measure bulky furniture and the tightest doorway or turn.
- Flag fragile, unusually heavy or dismantled items.
- Mention gates, low branches, gravel, steps or sloping paths.
Timing and neighbours
- Confirm key collection and any fixed access windows.
- Keep shared entrances clear and tell neighbours when useful.
- Share contact details for anyone managing access at either end.
What to send with your quote
Include both postcodes, an honest inventory, stairs at either property and a short note about parking or long carries. If something is difficult to describe, use the contact form to ask what information would help.
